So we will be heading for the boys state basketball tournament in Austin, TX. We have gone to the tournament for years, but since we retired we haven't been as much. So.....today after 3 years of staying away from school activities, we decided to head on down to Austin and check out the states finest basketball players. I really hope that the chants and dunks have only gotten better. I always pick my team on their chants and show off skills. I know that "old skool" coaches hate this - but I really like it. It's my favorite part of the entire tournament.
I also can't help but remember tournaments past.....like the year that Mike and Bobby went on ahead of Jodi and me. In fact Mike was planning on asking Bobby for Jodi's hand in marriage.....isn't that sweet.....I can only imagine how Mike felt.....I'm surprised he's even been to any games since.....but he has, and we are so glad he did.
I also remember when Bobby and Cody would go to the games and Jodi and I would go shopping...how much fun did we have. And...what deals we found.
I also remember the year Nicole came and discovered DSW. I'm sure Nicole loved shoes way before that, but she did pick up a couple of pairs - IF I remember right.
So, if you don't hear from us - we'll be in Austin - enjoying games, food and pleasant memories!

Nana,
I think Bobby knew it was coming becuuse he never piped down for more than a minute the whole trip down. I don't think he wanted to deal with it.
Let me just say that was the most nervous I have ever been, but not the most embarassed by far. That would have been on a trip to Post...
At least he was ok with me asking, but in true lightning bolt form while I was getting ready one day for the games he ended up telling everyone, Jodi included. Little did I know that my future wife was wondering where that ring was and why didn't she have it yet.
Good times in austin...have some Amy's mexican vanilla for me.
Mike, you make me laugh so hard!!! Oh the good times we've had...(at your expense)...I wish you were going with us! love, nana
