One doosey of a project!

This last project is just about to get me tired!!! We have started tiling our patio. I knew it was really big - but when you are working one tile at a time - this is redicuous. I've never been so tired or sore in my entire life. I really wanted a ledge to set up the wood burning fireplace Betty Sue & Jimmy gave us - so where you see the brick that is how tall the ledge is - we will fill it w/concrete then brick the top of it. I knew saving all that brick would come in handy some day!

So now all we lack is grouting the tile,, which will be a snap, and filling in the ledge and bricking the top of it. And, PLEASE don't ask Bobby how much all this cost - he's getting too old to stress about things like that!!! But doesn't it look great! All I need now is for Molly and Jack to come help!!!!

Furr's Cafeteria and Toddlers

Just about every Thursday when we babysit Max, we take him to Furrs to eat. It is the greatest thing to take this little blonde headed boy to an "Old Peoples" eating place. He knows the routine so well, but his most favorite thing is talking and waving to all old people, and oh do the old people love him too! He is so entertaining that he has every ones attention, he feeds himself, and because of no reason, he will throw his head all the way back and laugh, he smiles and talks and waves to everyone. He likes most of the food. He's eaten beets, spinach, baked carrots, baked fish, fried fish, just about everything. IF he doesn't like it, it comes out as fast as it went in. Max is alot like his Mother, IF he tastes sweets before the meal - the meal is over. I'm pretty sure that we have never offered him a desert that he didn't like. Anyway I'll through I would show you in a couple of pic's we do every Thurs, he loves to play outside and go on walks. So here are a few pic's. Max knows he's one now, and he also knows where his bugger's are! See if you can tell which is one, and which is bugger's . This is this little hole in the sidewalk at Max's home and he is fascinated with all you can put in it, and what is already in it.

The Reason that Nana's & Papa's Are always Happy!

Let me just say how happy I am Jodi is working on her master's degree. While she finishes up - we may get to keep the kids for some weekends. This makes us so happy! My computer was broken, so I will prob forget some of the cute little things, but I do have pic's. It started off with them running in so excited to stay 4 nights. We mostlly played outside, and we had we had so fun, I can hardly wait until they get here on Sunday. Molly and Jack played this game - Jack was Sonic X (the dad), and Molly was the mother of 1,049 kids. Jack had to work and build (plant) carrots in the sand box to feed all the kids. Jack would come over to me and say - I'll never get to quit work with all these kids, I told him to go tell Molly - no more kids!!! - Molly said to Sonic , "look at my belly - it's already fat" - I laughed soo hard - I nor Jodi have any ideal where she comes up this this stuff. Well, evenutialy, Jack got tired of all the work, and left her - Molly came to us crying (really) saying, "it's all my fault - he left me - I shouldn't have worked him so hard!" Can you believe this is all coming from a 3 yr old? She and Jack are so smart - Well, the next day - we went outside and the game continued- but this time Molly told Jack he didn't have to build so many carrots - she could slice them and make them go farther! Ae they not the cuties kids? On a sweet note about Max, Bobby & I got to go to his drs. apt - and he is the most well adjusted kid - he just let the dr. do her thing - and only got mad with Cody & Nic held him down while the nurse gave him 3 yes 3 shots - I reallydon't think it hurt him - because he's so tough - but I really think he felt betrayed by his parents!!!! Prob, they will make me and Bobby hold him down next time!!! Anyway hope all are well, and we'll see most eveyone on Sun.

Love, Nana

What really makes you feel stupid?

Keep in mind I've worked or 7/8 years for a cellular phone company. I could at one time program any phone with or without the codes. I have taught classes to adults on programming phones - let me assure you - at my best I WAS THE BEST!!! Then along came retirement and Max. Somehow that 18 mo. old put my phone in the silent mode - that wasn't even located on the phone!!!! Well, Max at least someone at AT&T knew what you little toddlers do to phones!! Now, everyone I know can now call my cell phone!!!! And.....for the records.....Max you can play with my phone anytime you want, but I may take the papa pic off the background and put Nana just to get even.....

Ramblings from a Monday

Okay another Monday went as planned.....as usual I miss the kids terribly - even though I just saw them last week.......I seriously think I may need a job.... Anyway back to earth -
Today, like so many I started the day off with 3 cups of coffee in bed -then wondered to the back porch to build a fire and drink more coffee. At about 10 am, I decided to get dressed and do something productive! I watered the plants, moved stuff around on the patio - talked Bobby into get a bistro table and 2 chairs for the front porch - that was a really tough thing, because nobody ever sits on the front porch - it is just for looks - but he agreed. We then decided to to sand, and paint my new table and chairs from Ikea - they turned out really good - it wasn't the color I sent Bobby for, but it really turned out good. We fixed my oven that I broke and cleaned it. The neighbor decided to get all stainless steel appliances and so we bought his stove and refrigerator - so I guess that's good - tomorrow I will have to clean out the old one and gladly replace it. So that's the day, so now you see why I love to babysit. I'm especially looking fwd to picking up Max on Wed, and bringing Jack & Molly home w/us on Thursday!!!! So talk to you later!

Life comes on weekends!

This past weekend was the funnest I've had in awhile. As you all know, It was Jodi & Mike's anniversary so we got to keep Molly and Jack. Next year, we hope to have Max too. It was a beautiful weekend and full of Jack & Molly's sayings. We had two movie nights, played outside in our underwear - because it got hot! We play draw bridge on the trampoline - I was the bridge - the object of the game is for me to lye flat on my back then the kids are suppose to jump over me - when I draw up my knee they have to wait. Let's just say that Miss Molly has remarkable jumping skills - but every time she landed flat in my stomach - with a giggle I've only heard once before (Sid w/sick dog & temperature). I think I may have gotten a sore throat screaming every time I saw Molly in the air coming down!!! Jack laughed and laughed, but he was to sweet to hurt his Nana! We built a fire, downloaded some games, and played WI - and yes I want one!!! Then we would start getting for bed around 8 pm and never make it to sleep until around 10 or so - there were just too many stories to tell - and things to talk and laugh about. I swear I have the sweetest and cutest and smartest grand kids around!!! Thanks for a great weekend Jack & Molly!!! Love, Nannie
