Boating w/Chuck

Okay - boating w/Chuck - his boat is great - getting to the lake is another story - driving 30 in a 55 - my worst nightmare - we get on the lake and all is cool - until he decides to show us how fast his boat would go - I nearly passed out - finally I found my voice to say "Slow down"....and he did. While out there we saw these new condos - built right on the lake, they were really cool ones - looked cheap enough - brown - boat dock under them - 2 porches on them - 1800 sf - and one for sell - so I call them - $350,000. - they were wooden!!!!!! You could touch the neighbors condo, I couldn't even avoid the taxes - much less the condo's!!! Plus the area behind them needed (a must) several retaining walls to keep the apt. complex from falling on them!!!

It's sad to be reminded of how poor you are.....but on the other hand....coming back from Dallas we saw so many cars pulled over out of gas! We tried to help two people - which meant driving to nearest town, buying gas can & gas - then driving them back. It was rewarding - but so sad to think of what the price of gas is doiing to middle class workers!! But, on the other hand, it made me very thankful for what I do have, and that we can drive to Dallas & Keller without to much worrry!

On a happy side - Molly was precious at the DR's office - don't think for one minute that a broken arm slowed her down - it just made a nervous wreck out of Jodi. You should see a one-armed
2 yr old - climbing on an exam table for adults!!! I love Molly so much and am so proud of everything she does - good or bad - she makes me laugh and remember Jodi and parts of Cody - but I know she has alot of Mike in her too(I've seen it)! Jack was just a sweet heart too, Molly was feeling her oats and pushed him out of the way while he was trying to tell me something very important and instead of pushing her back - he just said "Molly, you are making me very angry!" He was so worred about Mollyat the drs. that he left Papa in the waiting room to find Molly on his own! I could cuddle with Jack for hours!!! And he is getting so grown up and so sweet. Now that Max....he is going to be alot like Molly - he isn't afraid of anything and when he gives you kisses w/teeth - beware!!!! And when he's hungry - you better have food!!!!He fights sleep just like Jack - maybe not quite so bad but...close!

Ok so much for now - I love you all - Nana

Am I good or what & settle down Molly

well as you know I was so worried about today (you know - the "bookkeeper") - Well, when I walked in w/my own laptop and flash drive - everything changed. Now, she really likes me and sort of (sort of) considers me an equal w/no construction experience. What a good day! and bobby got the house all ready for my church meeting tonight - so all is good!
On a sad note, Miss Molly is at the emergency room waiting for an x-ray - when Jodi took her eye off of her - just one minute - she climbed the monkey bar and did a flip and landed on her shoulder! after several hours of complaining - she waiting in the emergency room! I'll keep you posted!

Retired/Rehire????

To work or not to work!?! If I think about it, I did retire......how then did I end up with a job?!?!? I have started working for a dear friend.....but.....I made it clear that my grand kids come FIRST. Now, I have his "bookkeeper" on my case to meet....yes I did try to meet her at a scheduled meeting, now she called and asked (Yelled) didn't you get my message? No....I didn't....then silence......well when do you want to meet????I'm in Dallas every WED and Thur, so suit yourself....okay Tues. Now, ....I don't want to meet on Tues....I don't want to work.....so what do I do?????? I'm leaning on telling the "bookkeeper" to kiss it....but I am a grown-up, so next choice...keep commitment....and give it a few days? I think her prob is that I am a close friend....you know women! It explains why she works for builders (no women). so....I'll meet her on Tues and we'll go from there.
I love keeping Max on Thurs....he is such a sweetheart and great baby....he is cutting 4-5 teeth w/more forming and he is still a sweetheart with tons of smiles and kisses.....on top of the teeth he has that awful rash, that you know it just itches like crazy.....and he is Still a great baby! He must have some of that John Bishop blood running through his veins...cause if it were Bain blood nobody would want to be around him!!
I will be so glad when Jack & Molly get home, that is one reason I'm mad about my "job", because I'm afraid it will interfere with my Jack & Molly time. Well......I done bitching....so have a nice day and I need to remember God is always in control...... Love, Nana

Happy now - Betty Sue

okay Betty Sue - here's a new post! All I can think about is poor Max sleeping in his own bed! Just kidding... Just wanted to pester!!!! Pork Chop is such a great kid - he'll do good no matter where he sleeps. Today was a great day - fixed a gas blower - I really think I should have done auto mechanics in high school...since I can't spell....I would have prob done really well w/cars!
I am making 3 July 4Th blankets - I haven't started yet - but ideas are forming in my head (which is always a little tricky).
Today we bought Mira a new stuffed toy - she LOVES it - you can just say -
"where's your baby?" and she runs to get her blue Winnie dog, and licks it and nudges it w/her nose. I think all this time she just needed a baby to take care of!
I am really proud of my garden - even though Bobby pointed out he hated it, that we would never get food out of it, and it was just a money trap, and mowing was really bad! so....in spite of his neg attitude, I am really proud of it, and plan on spending a lot more $$$ than I had originally thought. I am definitely adding more flowers - to make sure it is really totally worthless. It's so hard being a woman....without taking hormones!!!! You would think he could figure this out after 39 yrs of marriage!
I miss the McCormacks so bad - but I know they are having the vacation of a lifetime! Well....since I could ramble all night I'll just quit for now. I love you - and.....Pork Chop save your kisses for me tomorrow and no pulling baby girls hair!!! Love, Nana

Mother's Day for a Grandma

You know you were a great mother, when you become a Nana and look at how your kids turned out as parents. Watching my kids, Jodi & Cody, I can probably say that I was the greatest mother of all times. I am so proud of the way they watch over, protect, guide, teach and love their own kids. It started with their marriages. Jodi picked Mike who is quite possibly the best husband, provider, daddy, person and most of all Christian that Jodi could have picked. God truly had a hand in their marriage and children. I have not disagreed with one single thing they have done! How many people can say that! Cody picked Nicole who is perfect for Cody, she is a go getter and the best mother I have ever seen. Little Max is a sure sign of that! I often wonder IF he is such a great baby or have they just met all his needs and he doesn't know the difference. Either way - it worked. I could not have picked a girl more perfect for Cody & his family. I am thankful for both Mike and Nicole. I know that my kids know how much I love them, because it shows in their love for their kids. Jackson, Molly & Max - I am a truly blessed Nana. There is just one more thing - when you kids have grand kids you will know that your love is different from the love you have for your kids, it's a love without all the hangups - you don't have to worry about how they are going to turn out - you only have to love them. I want to thank God for all the love I have received from Him, Bobby, my kids and grand kids. I am truly blessed. And......I know I was a great mother!!!!! I hope Jodi and Nicole had a blessed Mothers Day as I did. I love you all. Nana

Grandkids make us young and bring back memories!

Today was the best!! The kids didn't get up until 8:30 am - (it's always good to let them stay up late)(Nana hint #1)! When we did get up we had breakfast in the gazebo - Molly & I had a tea party w/pancakes and powdered sugar and coffee, Jack watched Tom & Jerry "Whiskers me Shivers"! When it was over we played outside, planted flowers, ate Golden Chicken in the gazebo! It was just a great day. See if this reminds anyone on anything: Jack dropped Molly's car in the potty - Molly had to get it out - or we would have flushed it - and I know by experience that doesn't work! (I tried to get it out - but my hand was too big - for the record)

Jack accidentally hurt Molly and he apologized to her in Spanish - which wasn't good enough for Molly - so I asked him how he said it in Spanish - he looked as me with his cute little smile and then gave me a frown - I asked if that was it - and yes it was!!! I have laughed all day - just hearing the things Jodi says to the kids repeated to me. ex. I am getting very angry with you and I need some quite time. There were soooo many more, they are just like little parrots ....it's really funny!

Anyway - time to go to bed!!!lets hope the kids feel the same!!!!

Love, Nana

My Grandkids are the GREATEST!!!

Cody & Nicole trusted us to take Max to Jacks grad & Molly Ann's first live performance!! I couldn't be a prouder or proudest Nana in the WORLD. Jack was awesome, I was so proud he was mine!! I hope that tape never gets lost!!! Jack, you are the best!! I would put you in all of my plays..... Now, that Molly Ann showed the crowd what she was made of - she didn't miss a step or hand jesters. I was so proud of Miss Molly (sometimes called Cassie), and she will definitely be in all of my plays. Now...."Little Pork Chop"....every time there was a clap -Pork Chop knew it was for him, and the charm came out!!!!! He could have stayed the entire time. I do think he may do Broadway someday. But, I am thankful we remembered the pink flamingo, he really seemed to like it, and I do think he would much prefer a church with a full band!!!!!!!
Way to make Grandma Nana PROUD!!!!!!!!!

baby's first bruises on nana's watch

How could it happen...I'm watching every breath Baby Pork Chop takes, and he gets two, not one, two bruises on his face on my watch!!!! What a nightmare - and the worst part of it is that he REALLY told his Mama what I did, he evenuialy forgave me - but my heart was broken for his pain. It didn't hurt that bad when Jodi & Cody got hurt!!!! Sorry Max, Nana does love you. I'm thankful that I get another chance to babysit!!!
As Granny's bed is surrounded by angels, she is prob doing better than all of us. If we hear of any changes we will call you.
Jack graduates from Kinderschool on Wed. - Remember how cute he was last year - when, he did his builder bob thing on stage with his face covered by his hands. Man, has he ever grown in a year.
A new week is starting and I'm excited to see Molly & Jack . And I am really looking forword to camping this weekend. We will have a blast. There is not going to be a funeral for Granny - just a graveside service - and Joe said he was going to the state track meet on thurs. - so it's not going to be a big deal.
Well, talk to you later - Love you all & have a good week.
